Bungonia State Recreation Area is approximately 25 minutes drive from the Alpine of Goulburn and covers a strip of the Southern Tablelands from the spectacular limestone of Bungonia Creek south wards along the escarpment to the west of the Shoalhaven River. The recreation area is one of NSW's oldest conservation reserves.

Goulburn Waterworks

The Goulburn Waterworks Museum houses at 1883 Appleby Beam Engine and a Hick Hargreaves corliss valve steam engine. The Beam engine powered the original water supply for the town, and is now the largest working steam driven Beam Engine in the Country. Currently Open Every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
